WDW: December 6, 2011

I was up early for the first day of our trip, as always... but this time because of a worsening migraine. I had had it for days, and it was getting out of control, just in time for our trip. Hooray! At about 6:15 we woke the girls up, and boy, were they cute!

Daddy, get out of your bed and see! There are no more papers!"

We were on the road a bit later, and the questions and daydreaming began. "Do you think we'll get a truck or a van or a different car?""I can show my Duffy to the real Duffy!""What color airplane are we going to fly on?" "Maybe we'll see a CHRISTMAS TREE!!!"

"When we're all done and you say it's time to go home, we can't cry".

Uh oh. They have their mama's illness already. We'd been on the road 10 minutes and they were dreading the end of the trip. Sheesh!

We did our advent book reading and listened to the latest airport drive playlist :) and made it to Columbus and through security in no time. The girls were so excited (and well-behaved) on the plane. Each trip is so different, and so much fun - before we even leave Ohio! The flight is just short enough that the girls don't need much entertainment (i.e., one poured over the soda pictures and the other over the safety manual)... but just long enough that they usually catch a 10 or 15 minute nap.

At MCO our bags were ready instantly (as always - seriously, what's wrong with Dayton?), and we were eating our "lunch" while waiting for Zach to come back with the rental car. Since we knew we'd have more food than we'd ever need, we didn't even have to stop at the store; we were checked into the Animal Kingdom Lodge and in our room in record time! We got settled in and unpacked, saw a few animals (seriously, my children melt my heart), then made our way over to the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom.

Oh. Well not before getting a prescription called in for Fiorocet (seriously?) for my headache. Weird. But I digress...

At the Magic Kingdom we bought our passes (all four of us. ouch.) and headed in to say hi to Mickey and Minnie! We went back and got special welcomes from The Mice and were treated like little celebrities. And seriously? Wouldn't you do the same with these sweet faces? :)

Dinner was at Chef Mickey's of course, and was as always, a great start to our trip.

We were back to AKV for a relatively early bedtime - but not before watching the Duffy bedtime story on Resort TV. For the first of many nights to come.... :)
