October 9th, 2009 - WDW Day 6

After a bit of a rough night, we all just got up and played a bit at 6:30am. Mom and Cassi got checked in for their flight and for Magical Express, and eventually it was time to head to the Magic Kingdom with two adorable tinkers in tow! :)

We realized as we entered that we had snapped NO photos of the entire group at each of the park icons, so we made sure to grab one in front of the castle. Well, or we tried. Emmersyn and Hartley fell asleep pretty early for that morning nap, so we still didn't get an entire group shot!

Zach and I hung around Tomorrowland with the sleeping babies while the Baldwin girls rode Stitch's Great Escape. We all headed over to Toontown at about 9:45 to be there when it opened at 10, so that we could visit the Fairies. Apparently the 10am opening time means nothing anymore, because - according to a cast member in the area upon asking how the wait was already 2 hours(!?) - they just open when they can, often 15-25 minutes early. Nice to know, considering that's never been the case any other time we were here. There was no way we could wait that long, so we visited the princess instead. Bummer!
The girls actually weren't at all interested in the princesses, their dresses, any of it. Ironically, they were more apprehensive about the "face characters" than they were the larger, costumed variety! We pretty quickly headed back through to Tomorrowland, rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and did a little bit of shopping. Lunch at Cosmic Ray's was outstanding as always (the best counter service value in the park), and the girls adored watching Sonny Eclipse. They sang and danced, and after each song gave him a big round of applause. Such a precious audience - if only he were real enough to appreciate it! ;)
All too soon, it was time for half the party to head back to Cincinnati :( We all headed to Main Street, USA to load up on some snacks before Amy & Addy said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom (and the World). We gave hugs and said our goodbyes on the bus since they got off at the first stop, and our smaller party headed back to the room to hang out and escape the heat.

At about 1:30, we changed the girls and caught a bus to Downtown Disney. It was time for the girls to nap, after all, so we had to leave the room! :-P

We got a few pictures with Pooh & friends in the ADORABLE Pooh dresses from (and handmade by!) a friend before settling the girls into The Cave.

Zach and I picked up a few things from our list, sweated our butts off, caught some Wifi, etc until it was almost time for the girls to wake up. We took the boat back to OKW (since it meant not collapsing the stroller), grabbed some Diet Coke and looked at Conch Flats (general store) for an OKW pin (that we would later have to order on ebay since they were out resort-wide -- how has this happened to us 3 times now!?).

Our dinner that evening was at Olivia's (at Old Key West), so we just hung out in the reading room and let the girls get a snack, rather than making the long haul back to the room only to turn around and return to the same area.

Dinner was pretty good, though nothing to write home about (or travel to the resort for). The girls did enjoy themselves, though!

We called it an early night and were in sweats and PJs before 7pm, playing together with "new" ("duplicate") toys that we purchased to leave in our Owner's Locker. The girls were asleep by 7:30, and Zach and I watched some quiet TV and followed shortly thereafter, after hearing from Mama and Addy that all were home safely in (cold, flooded) Ohio!
